Practice row for 1964:
The Class of 1964 was represented by George Adaniya, Mike Drooker, and Jim Monk.
We cobbled a four together for practice on Saturday. The attached photo, courtesy of Ron Young, shows Jim in the bow, George at 2 and me at 3. Our stroke was a younger grad, and our experienced 15 yr. old coxswain was the daughter of a grad. She learned the ropes in a high school program, of which there were few when we rowed in the 1960s.
On Sunday we joined five members of the Class of 1969 in an eight stroked by Bruce Anderson, '69. We placed first in our first heat and third in the final heat behind some much younger boats. We rowed well, and were astounded at how well we were able to get back into the swing of things so quickly after a long absence.
